Custom Wine Storage

The homeowner wanted to utilize this wall in their home, adjacent to the bar and dining area, for wine storage. It needed to be non-intrusive, eye-catching, and it needed to look intentional.

For a basic visualization, I used SketchUp to create the wine storage, and I used Photoshop to add it to the photo I had taken of the space. The original idea was that the wine storage area would be the same width as the pre-existing console table. This visualization helped us decide it needed to be bigger in order to match the scale of the home and to house more bottles of wine.

After calculating the number of wine racks we wanted and could fit, I asked our crew on site, to map out the new dimensions including the depth to ensure there was adequate room to walk around the storage. It was very important that it did not feel invasive.

We began developing the design by selecting finishes and final touches. We always knew a fun wallpaper would be necessary for this glass enclosure. Bedazzled Leaf by Maya Romanoff was made for this project! It gave the storage area texture, dimension, vibrance and shine. Because it is located on a curved wall, the wallpaper dances as you walk by. We briefly discussed a lighting feature when we began the project, and this baseboard LED light was the perfect solution. The finishes selected matched the homeowners personal style as well as the home's.
